We recommend to reach Štrbské Pleso through the closest international airport in Košice (~120 km). There are regular daily flights from Prague, Vienna and Bratislava. The relatively small Košice airport is served by three airline companies :

All three airlines use the low capacity aircrafts, therefore the very early reservation / booking is highly recommended ! Here is the list of the flights to/from Košice around DIS 2004 workshop. To get the best price we recommend to contact directly Czech Airline office in your country. For your information : the return ticket price for flight from Hamburg is 390 Euro + airport tax.

We will hire few busses/minivans/cars from Košice airport to Štrbské Pleso and later back. The price for :

- bus with 48 seats	=	380 Euro one way,
- minibus with 20 seats	=	220 Euro one way,
- minibus with 12 seats	=	150 Euro one way,
- car with 3 seats	=	30 Euro one way,

will be shared by the participants using this transport facility and will be paid during the on-site registration. Participants traveling by plane to Košice and planning to use the conference bus are kindly asked to specify this request in the Registration form.

Important note : If you would like to use the conference bus and didn't yet inform the organizers, please send the e-mail with your flight number and arrival time to bruncko@saske.sk as soon as possible. Information concerning your departure with flight number will be also very much acknowledged.

Note : for international flights the airline companies serving Košice Airport require check in not later than 90 minutes before the flight departure.

The participants can reach Štrbské Pleso also by train. There are regular direct train connections from Košice, Bratislava, Prague, Vienna and Budapest. You can reach Štrbské Pleso either through Poprad (29 km) using Tatra Electric Railways, or from Štrba (5 km) using the cog wheel railway. All three hotels are within walking distance (~1 km) from the train station.

You can use numerous route planners to select your car route to Štrbské Pleso, e.g.: easytour.dr-staedtler.de , www.opel-mobil.de , rp.rac.co.uk , www.reiseplanung.de or www.viamichelin.com. Note : for the use of highways you need a vignette (toll sticker), which must be attached on the wind-screen of your car. For 15 days the price is 150 Slovak crowns.

Private cars can be parked in the hotel's parking lots, the fee is from 4 Euro up to 10 Euro per day.

In Slovakia the official currency is Euro. To exchange some money after arrival to Košice airport (e.g. for taxi / train) we can recommend the small exchange office located directly in customs area, which is open before/after each flight arrival/departure. In addition you can find ATM of ČSOB bank just at the exit of Košice airport building. In Košice train station you will find the exchange office open in working days 06:30-14:00, 14:30-21:30 and on Saturday and Sunday 06:30-12:30, 13:00-18:30.
