6^th International Workshop on Cestode Systematics and Phylogeny

Dear Colleagues,

 We are delighted to invite you to partake in the 6^th International Workshop on Cestode Systematics and Phylogeny which will be held in the Congress Centre of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Smolenice, Slovakia, June 15-20, 2008.

  We believe that upcoming workshop will bring together researchers and world’s leading experts in systematics and molecular and evolutionary biology of tapeworms that will enable to interchange the most recent knowledge and experience in this research field.  We would like to go back to traditional working groups or roundtables and discuss the most actual problems of the methodology, terminology, life cycles and ultrastructure of cestodes. Several invited lectures covering the most important topics of present and future research will be included as oral presentations. The workshop will also comprise the update of the Fauna Europaea Database (www.faunaeur.org) and Global Cestode Database (www.cestode-database.org) and practical demonstration of the two selected groups of tapeworms.

  For the meeting to be truly successful, we seek your assistance and very much welcome your suggestions and ideas concerning respective working groups.
