Complex processing and utilization of fly ashes from coal-fired power plants

Results:  
The research in the second year of solution was directed at X-ray study of phase composition of alumosilicate, iron and combustible matter concentrates coming from coal-fired power plant (EVO-1) and heating plant (TEKO). As to alumosilicate concentrates, low temperature quartz is dominant mineral. It is accompanying by high temperature quartz. Magnetite, calcite, mullite and hematite can consider to be accessories. Graphite is dominant mineral in concentrates of combustible matter. Peaks of calcite, hematite and magnetite were also identified. Magnetite and hematite are dominant minerals in iron concentrates (3 publications in conference proceedings).

Results:  
The influence of the kinetics of leaching on the irregularity of the surface of leach residuum characterized by a value of surface fractal dimension was studied. The morphology of dust outlets coming from the point source in Nizná Slana was determined by the surface fractal dimension that should be incorporated to the equations describing the concentration of noxious elements from the point source. The applications of different analyses with the aim to obtain more information about surface characteristics based on adsorption data were studied.

Study of rock disintegration mechanism by mechanical means at excavation, exploitation and underground engineering constructions

The acoustic and vibration spectrum was examined by research of rock drilling by diamond impregnated drilling tools depending on input parameters (thrust, revolutions). A hypothesis of rock disintegration by rock drilling was designed (1 publication in CC journal, 5 publications in NCC journals, 1 in conference proceedings).
