| Name: | Biotransformation of minerals in biogeochemical processes |
| Duration: | 01/2002-12/2003 |
| (Co) Investigator: | Dipl. Ing. Iveta STYRIAKOVA, PhD. |
| Results: | Two scientific stays at the Institute for mineralogy and crystallography in Vienna (17.-22.11.2002 and 9.-14.11.2003) were realized during this project. Both stays enabled to perform X-ray analyses of samples in Vienna after their bio-chemical leaching in Kosice. The first result concerning the bioleaching of zeolites was published in the Proceeding and Book of abstracts from XV.International Conference Biohydrometallurgy in Athens where it was presented by form of the lecture. |

| Name: | Study of concurring acoustic signal characteristics and geotechnical parameters in rock disintegration for drilling process optimization |
| Duration: | 01/2000-12/2002 |
| (Co) Investigator: | Dipl. Ing. Frantisek KREPELKA, PhD. |
| Results: | Within the grant task solution an accessory acoustic signal was studied at the rock disintegration by drilling. The experiments confirmed that monitoring with following acoustic signal analysis might be a suitable method providing the technological processes monitoring. The possibilities of monitoring, diagnostics and optimization pr rock disintegration process at various drilling regimes were explored within the basic research. Apart from that, possibilities of selected rock types diagnostics in disintegration process were studied. |

| Name: | Thermomechanical and environmental aspects of fine-grained energetic resources and wastes solidification |
| Duration: | 01/2000-12/2002 |
| (Co) Investigator: | Dr. Jan BEJDA, PhD. |
| Results: | The methodics for recognition of the fine-grained vegetal energetic materials compressibility depending on the compacting pressure and temperature was developed. The methodics was supplemented by a procedure of monitoring the changes of pellet density depending on time. Certain grounds for briquetting and pelleting machines construction were attained by the research. |

| Name: | Inverse continuous method of rock mass properties determination from the monitored parameters of the full-profile tunnelling |
| Duration: | 01/2000-12/2002 |
| (Co) Investigator: | Visiting Prof. Dipl. Ing. Vitazoslav KRUPA, DSc. |
| Results: | The verification of basic hierarchic structure of the developed IKONA method was finished successfully. The IKONA acronym stands for the inverse continuous method of rock mass properties determination from the monitored parameters of the full-profile tunnelling. The model strength of the rock mass was stated as comparable with the scleroscopic rock strength. |
