6. Monte-Carlo Simulation for HEC

  • GEANT4 physics validation

GEANT4 is still under development, and our group took part in the precise comparision of simulated and experimental beam test data especially for hadronic physics at G4 environment. In the next two figures 1 and 2 some particular the results from our analyses are shown.

Figure 1: The energy resolution of pions in HEC

Figure 2: The energy dependence of pion for various HEC layers.

  • The beam tests Monte-Carlo simulation

In Košice now we have full present in stand-alone mode the ATLAS software, which is based on OO-object oriented software. We take participation in Monte-Carlo simulation of HEC beam set-up, see Fig 3,

Figure 3: The beam test set-up

in the cluster reconstruction in LAr using standard Athena ATLAS tool and in this time we try to use last GEANT4 version for the missing ET/jets physics in HEC, e.g. in Fig. 4 the comparisions among GEANT3.21, GEANT4 and beam tests data have been shown.

Figure 4: The electron resolution for impact point J

On the Fig. 5 the results from combined EMC/HEC/FCAL tests together with Monte-Carlo predictions - GEANT3.21 and GEANT4 -used LHEP and QGSP hadronic processes are shown.

  • The extension of PYTHIA6.2 Monte-Carlo generator

Into generator PYTHIA6.2 has been putted new process with the production of two top quarks and we began the analyze with two top production including background calculation.
