First Announcement



Mathematical Institute of the Slovak Academy od Sciences is pleased to announce that the

24th Summer Conference on Real Functions Theory

with topics including but not limiting to generalized continuity, derivatives, integration, topology, measure, multifunctions, structures on the real line as well as their applications will be held in

Congress Center Academia, Stara Lesna (High Tatras), Slovakia
from Sunday, August 29 to Friday, September 3, 2010.


The conference is the 24th in its series. Since 2005 it has rotated between Poland nad Slovakia. The last conference was held in Niedzica, Poland, in 2009.
The 24th Summer Conference schedule will include 45-minute lectures delivered by invited speakers and 15-20-minute contributed presentations by conference participants.

Professor Grazyna Kwiecinska, (Gdansk, Poland)


to deliver the principal lectures.

The mathematical community is warmly invited to attend as well as to offer short talks.

As usual, a booklet of abstracts which includes abstracts of the presentations, will be published and will be available to all participants free of charge at the registration. Furthemore, a special issue of the journal Tatra Mountains Mathematical Publications will be published.

Conference Location

The conference will be held at the Congress Centre Academia in Stara Lesna, Slovakia, which provides excellent conference facilities.

Stara Lesna is situated at the foot of the Lomnicky Peak in the eastern part of the Vysoke Tatry Mountains (High Tatras) in Slovakia. It is located on the border of the Tatra National Park in a nice quiet place not far away from Tatranska Lomnica and Stary Smokovec. An advantage is a short distance from the airport in Poprad (only 15 km) and an easy access by car, train and/or bus.

The hotel Academia provides double-occupancy en-suite rooms (bathroom with toilet directly connected to a bedroom) as well as a limited number of single-occupancy en-suite rooms (for an extra pay) each with free Wi-Fi wireless internet acces, TV with Sky Channels, radio, minibar, balcony.

The place offers good conditions for hiking and other sport activities.

Programme

The academic programme will run from the morning on Monday, 30 August until lunchtime on Friday, 3 September.

Conference fees

The cost of hotel accommodation and full board per a day and a person will be 40 EUR. The conference fee is 130 EUR and covers the use of conference facilities, a conference bag with a booklet of abstracts, refreshment breaks, reception, farewell dinner, the total cost of the invited lecturers as well as the partial printing cost of the conference proceedings.
