SUMMER SCHOOL ON GENERAL ALGEBRA AND ORDERED SETS 2003

Second announcement

         Dear Friends,

Thank you for your interest in our Summer School. This is to provide further information about the conference.

If you have registered for the summer school, please, confirm your participation and send us the exact date of your arrival and departure (if different from August 31 and September 6). If you have not registered but you are still interested in Summer School, contact us as soon as possible.

The preliminary list of participants is available at our conference web page.

         1. Scientific programme:

The official programme will start on September 1 (Monday) and close on September 6 (Saturday) at noon. It will consist of invited lectures and 20-minute contributed talks.

We have the following invited speakers:

Holland, W. C.: "A survey of lattice ordered groups"
Idziak, P.: "to be announced"
Wehrung, F.: "A recent progress in Congruence of Lattices Problem"

Each of them will give several one-hour lectures on the indicated topic.

The programme will be organized so that there is enough time for discussions and tourist activities. As usual, we plan one day free of lectures.

         2. Arrival and accommodation:

The conference will take place in the hotel BELA (http://www.hotelbela.sk).

Participants are expected to arrive on August 31 (Sunday). The registration desk will be located in the Main Foyer of the hotel and will be open from 2.00 p.m.

Accommodation is provided mostly in double rooms with a bathroom.

The meals are arranged at the same place.

         3. Transportation:

The village of Kosicka Bela and the hotel BELA are located on the road Kosice - Krompachy - Spisska Nova Ves - Poprad, about 18 km from (the center of) Kosice.

If you travel by car from Kosice, you will pass the hill of Jahodna and you will see the bust stop and a motel on your right. The hotel BELA is about 300 m behind the motel. If you come from Poprad, in Spissky Stvrtok turn right to Spisska Nova Ves and follow the signs to Kosice. Kosicka Bela will be on your left.

Kosicka Bela can be also reached by bus from Kosice. The bus station is adjacent to the railway station. The buses leave from platform 9. The fare is 23,- Sk and should be paid directly to the driver. You should get off at the stop "Kosicka Bela - Potoky". You will see a motel with a swimming pool there. Pass the motel and continue the road until you come to the hotel BELA.

It is also possible to take a taxi in Kosice. The fare should be about 500 Sk.

Kosice can be easily reached by train ( http://www.zsr.sk) or by plane ( http://www.airportkosice.sk).

If you have any problems with your transportation, contact us and we will try to help you.

         4. Payment:

The total cost of conference (including accommodation, full board, and conference fee) is 7.500,- Sk (Slovak crowns); for an accompaying person the price is 5.400,- Sk.

You will be asked to pay at the registration desk. The present exchange rate is approximately 1 EUR = 40,- Sk.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Kosicka Bela.
