PPMS and MPMS

In september 2006 PPMS and MPMS instruments from Quantum Desing have been installed in the new joint laboratory of IEP SAV and FS UPJŠ. PPMS will operate with magnetic fields up to 9 T measuring thermodynamic and transport properties, while MPMS will provide DC and AC magnetometry in the fields up to 5 T and in very low fields.


MPMS (Magnetic properties measurement system):

Maximum sample size: 9 mm
Field uniformity: 0.01% over 4 cm
Temperature range: 1.9 – 400 K

MPMS OPTIONS:
SQUID AC Susceptibility Measurement (*) - 0.1Hz to 1KHz;
sensitivity: 2 x l0-8 emu at 0 T
• Ultra-Low Field Capability (*) ±0.05 G for the 5 T or 7T magnets
